How Does the Decanter Centrifuge Work
The working principle of the Horizontal Decanter Centrifuge is mainly based on the following key steps:

Feeding and separation:
- The material is continuously introduced through the feed pipe and first enters the screw conveyor. Under the action of centrifugal force, solid particles and liquids with different densities are layered inside the drum.
- Solid particles with higher density are deposited on the inner wall of the drum to form a sediment layer; while liquids with lower density form an inner liquid ring and continuously overflow from the overflow port at the large end of the drum.
Slag and liquid discharge:
- The solids in the sediment layer are pushed to the cone section of the drum for extrusion and further dehydration under the action of the screw conveyor blades.
- The dehydrated solid phase is discharged from the drum from the discharge port, while the liquid phase is discharged through the liquid discharge port.
Control and operation:
- By controlling the position of the overflow port, the depth of the liquid pool can be adjusted to achieve different separation requirements.
- The horizontal screw centrifuge can continuously perform feeding, separation, washing and unloading operations at full speed to ensure the continuity and efficiency of production.
The design of this centrifuge makes it very suitable for use in chemical, light industry, pharmaceutical, food, environmental protection and other industries to process suspensions containing solid particles and can effectively separate solid and liquid components.
